ACTIVATE EDUCATION
Using the creative arts to support curriculum learning
UNLOCKING POTENTIAL
HARNESSING IMAGINATION
NURTURING CREATIVITY
Our ACTivate Education programme aims to equip young people with essential skills to tackle the challenges they face both in and out of school. Our workshops are built around three key areas of learning: Literacy, Life Skills and Drama.
We create a dynamic, energetic and focussed learning environment, allowing children to discover new and exciting ways to develop and grow. Through a series of practical games and exercises, our practitioners use their experience and technique as actors to help children realise and fulfil their creative potential.
Most importantly, our workshops are inventive, energetic and FUN!
We offer a range of programmes for EYFS children to KS5 students, visiting schools, theatre groups and other academic institutions. Our workshops range from thirty-five minutes through to full days and can be tailored to suit your preferred time frame.
We also offer workshops for teachers, exploring ways to transpose an actor’s skills into the classroom.
Using the creative arts to support curriculum learning.
Our ACTivate Literacy workshops are all about to getting children to fall in love with reading! We offer sessions based on a specific curriculum or non-curriculum text, using a series of energetic games and exercises to explore the themes, characters and questions it raises.
Bringing the story to life in a practical setting, we aim to build and nurture confidence, harness literary understanding and encourage positive collaboration between students.
Our Life Skills workshops are designed to equip young people with the tools they need to navigate challenges they face outside the classroom. Being granted permission to take risks and being allowed to fail are essential to the process of confidence building. We establish an inclusive environment that is full of energy, encouragement and creative play, allowing students to shed inhibitions and fostering confidence in their own abilities.
Each workshop has a particular focus and is built around a founding principle of shedding inhibitions, nurturing imagination and building confidence.
Our Drama workshops are all about fun! Whether it be learning and performing extracts from hit West-End shows with leading professional actors or piecing together a whole year group (or even whole school) ‘Play in a Day’, these sessions are dynamic, energetic and fast-paced and leave students on a real high.
Action-packed and fast-paced, these confidence boosting workshops keep students on their toes at all times, immersing them in the energetic and invigorating world of the rehearsal room.
We offer workshops for teachers to practise and develop their performance skills and explore transferring them into the classroom. We aim to equip them with acting tricks and performance tips in disciplines like vocal delivery, non-verbal expression and stage-craft. By honing and developing these tools, we hope to empower teachers with confidence in their ability to navigate the challenges of a class environment.
